July Fourth is not only the birthday of the United States, it also causes us to reflect on what it means to be an immigrant. That rings true every year, and especially this year as America celebrates its 250th anniversary. Over time, we have accepted both our countries for different reasons, and even though neither one is perfect, we love them both. In fact, the reason we started this company is because Mirena wanted to create a business that would connect her two countries. And, we hope you agree that wine is a great ambassador!
We are thankful for our two countries, but also thankful to all of you who trust us with your orders. On behalf of Croatian winemakers, we truly appreciate the opportunity to introduce to you the indigenous Croatian varieties. For those of you that watched the final Vatreni game, we empathize. (And as former high-tech professionals, we are amazed at the crucial role technology played in the outcome.) While the outcome for the Croatian team was frustrating, we are grateful that FIFA served as a great catalyst to get so many nations connected with such positive energy across the US. It has been a special and uplifting summer.
