As you gather with family and friends for Thanksgiving, here is a reminder of a few do’s and don’ts for a pleasant dinner.

1. Do not bring up controversial topics. But do bring unusual toppings – like toasted walnuts and dried apricots to top the stuffing, which pair great with Graševina or Traminac.

2. Do not bring your personal baggage. But do bring a few bags of wine – like a crisp white or Pošip for the white meat and light Babić, Plavac Mali or Kapistran for the red meat.

3. Do not fight for a leg or wing.  But do fight to impress with wines to pair with desserts – such as Grk with vanilla/fruity desserts or robust Plavac for chocolates; or for special desserts, the traditional Dalmatian Prošek.
