A special indigenous white wine from Korčula. Made from 100% Pošip, the native white grape of the region. Dalmatian Dog Pošip is a golden yellow wine of stronger intensity, crystal clear and quite dense. The bouquet is of medium intensity with the aromas of ripe lemon, peach, fig and Mediterranean herbs. The wine is dry, medium-bodied, with ripe fruit aroma, slightly oily in texture and with a good and fine finish. Harvest was done at the end of August, by hand and selectively in the early morning hours to preserve the grapes’ freshness and aroma. The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks for 3 weeks under strict temperature control and further aged on fine lees. Best served at 53° F. The variety is highly aromatic with a tendency to produce high sugars and alcohol. The fruit aromas are reminiscent of a light Viognier.
