Dalmatia/DOI Ponikve. A dry red wine from 10 to 30-year-old Plavac Mali vines. This age difference is what distinguishes it from the Škrapa red wine 30 to 60 year old). After maceration and fermentation, the wine is aged in barrique barrels for 12 months and subsequently in bottles for an additional 12 months.
Characteristics of this Marlais wine: A fruity and elegant, medium-bodied Plavac Mali, with soft tannins. The bouquet is made up of berries and dark cherries. Red wine for everyday pleasure.
Pairing tip: Combine it with semi-hard cheese, prosciutto, red meat and seafood pasta.
