The featured wine is Komarna 7 Plavac Mali 2016 ($19) This remarkable wine is an unusual collaboration of the 7 wineries of the Komarna appellation, and blends Plavac Mali made in the same style by different wineries. This wine is produced exclusively for Croatian Premium Wine, and is available only in the US.
In addition to the wines of Rizman, Terra Madre and Volarevic wineries, we are offering for the first time wines from two additional Komarna wineries – Saints Hills and Deak.
From Saints Hills we have Plavac Mali St. Roko 2015 ($55) from their Komarna St. Roko vineyard, as well as Plavac Mali Dingac 2015 ($85) from their St. Lucia vineyard in the famous Dingac region. These wines are both very rich and elegant examples of Plavac Mali at its best.
From Deak we have their Plavac Mali Ca Ca Moj Rose 2018 ($19). (Ca Ca Moj is pronounced “cha-cha-moee”, and means “my dad”.) This rose has a deeper color than our other roses from Komarna, suitable for this season.
From Volarevic, we have two new wines. The first is a 100% Pošip 2018 ($19), which is very dry, crisp and
structured. We also have the new release of their flagship wine, the Plavac Mali Gold Edition 2016 ($49). The Plavac Mali Gold Edition 2013 is still available, but only a small quantity remains (now $65).
We believe you will enjoy these new wines from Dalmatia. In our next shipment, we will be introducing some exciting wines from different regions of Croatia, including Istria and Medimurje.
