La Vie En Rose

by Win Burke | Published August 29, 2026

La Vie En Rose

This tribute celebrates Dolly Parton and her signature love for pink, drawing a beautiful parallel to her legendary French counterpart, Edith Piaf. Piaf’s most acclaimed chanson, La Vie En Rose, literally translates to “Life in Pink”— or more fittingly, “seeing the world through rose-colored glasses”. While it is heartbreaking to lose such a beloved icon, we choose to see the world in pink, knowing that her timeless music will stay with us forever.

Whether you hum Working 9-5 or La Vie en Rose, we share with you four delicious rosés from Dubrovnik-Neretva County – three are from the Komarna Appellation, right next to the Pelješac Bridge, and one from the Dingač and Postup vineyards on the Pelješac Peninsula.

As with other bundles, this La Vie En Rose Bundle is available at a 15% discount.

  • Volarević Plavac Mali Rosé La Chic! – this is one of the palest Plavac Mali rosés – the grapes are first cooled to a temperature of about 40°F, then go for a gentle press.  This rosé expresses the tender side of robust Plavac Mali with a very delicate nose with pronounced fruity aromas, including strawberry.
  • Korta Katarina Plavac Mali Rosé – From vineyards in Dingač and Postup on the Pelješac Peninsula, Korta Katarina rosé is a salmon color with intense and attractive scents of red orange and wild strawberry. Its taste is lively and juicy, completely dry, and exudes freshness. Elegant and measured, expressive on the mouth and nose.
  • Rizman Rusula (old name for a rose flower) – Made from Plavac Mali with up to 10% of Syrah, this is a modern, lively and sophisticated style of rosé that shows a vibrant salmon pink color. Aromas combine refined and subtle notes of red fruits with freshly baked brioche displaying delicate yeasty complexity. On the palate it is dry, beautifully balanced with an elegant creamy texture, followed by a refreshing finish.
  • Terra Madre Rosé – Plavac Mali 60%, Syrah 40%. This rosé is fresh and light with a pleasant fruity aroma dominated by berries, raspberries and currants, with a few herbal tones. Plavac Mali delights the palate gently, and the flutter and light drinkability come from Syrah.

The food pairing recommendations for all of these wines include sipping the wine on its own or pairing with salads, white seafood, and light pasta dishes, as well as with lighter appetizers, such as risotto with asparagus and charcuterie.

We also wanted to remind you of the virtual Croatian Wine Masterclass Series, starting on September 9. Register to participate live or watch the recordings later.

  • September 9th 8:00 pm Eastern – intro to Croatian wine regions and varieties, with a focus on Dalmatia, including celebration of Plavac Mali Day on 9/21.  This MasterClass will include an overview of and a tasting of selected wines. To register for the event and receive a Zoom link, register here.

    • Purchase is not necessary to attend the Masterclass, but if you’d like to taste along, here is a link to the Plavac Mali bundle at 15% off.

    • West Coast Cutoff Date to place an order to ensure arrival on time for the Masterclass is  Wednesday, September 2nd. (Sorry, but the default Ground shipment will not reach East Coast and Central destinations in time, unless you opt for FedEx Overnight or 2-Day Express at checkout.)
