Plavac Mali Barrique 2016 is a modern medium-bodied wine with pronounced fruitiness with soft and tamed tannins. It is primarily Plavac Mali, but includes Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Its color is ruby red, with scents of fully ripe cherry and plum fruits. Its taste is elegant with light spices and silky tannins.
Plavac Mali Barrique 2016 grapes come from our Komarna vineyard and the grapes are produced using an organic and sustainable farming process, without the use of mineral fertilizers and pesticides.
Grape harvesting takes place in the second half of September with the aim of producing medium-bodied wine with 13-14% alcohol by volume. Grape selection is carried out in the vineyard (average yield 0.7 – 1 kg per vine).
Processing and fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks at 77-86 F with indigenous yeasts. After fermentation and malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels. After aging in the barrel, the wine is aged for 12 months in the bottle.
